In short, although democracy envisages freedom of association, this freedom becomes a libertinism in terms of the creation of political parties in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Indeed, contrary to what is happening in other countries of the sub-region, or even on the entire African continent, the number of political parties is evolving at a worrying rate. And for good reason, this is not based on the logical motivations that contribute to the increase in the number of political parties in a multi-party system. In this regard, instead of the social factor relating to social stratification, the ideological factor or the institutional factor relating to the mode of the electoral system put in place, it is rather selfish interest that dictates the multiplication of political parties in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
